I was sorry to read that fellow Brits. are hurting again at the pumps. Many Brits. from North East England, fed up with rising prices at the pumps, decided to emigrate to Canada in the early 80's and are we are ever so glad we did.
Reaching almost 6 pounds sterling / gallon I weep for those I left behind. In Ontario we pay half that and yet - people who have lived here all of their life continue complaining if prices of gas (petrol) rise 1 cent.
If you know a native Canadian and become friends, you can get him/her to fill your car up for 15% less because native Canadians don't have to pay sales taxes. Also you can buy dirt cheap smokes from the natives, but it's not certain what's mixed with the tobacco.
The Canadian dollar is on par with the American dollar today so things are looking up for us.
The icing on the cake is Tim Horton's Coffee Shops.
Who WOULDN'T want to be a Canadian today? Get your immigration forms filled out. We have plenty of room over here.
Don't believe what you hear about Polar Bears roaming the streets. That's just to scare you off.
Also, an important thing to remember, if taking a test to become a Canadian citizen, contrary to popular belief, hockey is NOT Canada's National Sport, it's actually Lacrosse.
Just moving here to save on 'gas' is worth it.
