Bangkok Police are currently investigating the mysterious death in the city of a cat found this morning at around 5.30am.
The cat, about 2, was discovered by chance by an off-duty traffic cop who was sleeping under a bridge near the Rajawithi Road/Rama VI Road intersection. It was laid in the gutter with its inner organs on the outside of its body - always a problem.
The cop called for back-up, and officers from the Bangkok 16th Armed Pet Division attended the incident, but the moggy was pronounced dead at the scene.
One officer, Sgt. Somchai Plod, was heard to remark:
"Looks like it was the victim of a hit-and-run. Bring a shovel and a bin bag."
