A big black blob has been sighted floating about in the Arctic Ocean off the coast of Alaska.
Eerily reminiscent of a Stephen King short story, the big black blob, which is not thought to be extraterrestrial in origin has been watched ferociously by locals.
"I don't know what it is exactly," one local told us. "But it sure as hell stinks. It must be organic to kick up a stink like that."
A local fisherman, who accidentally sailed into the blob told us:
"It's like, fibrous, like some kind of plant life. But the stink? Jeeze, I almost lost my waffles."
We called the Alaska Big Black Blob Research Center, who told us:
"It's weird. We haven't seen it yet but we're told it consists of fibres and tendrils so it's probably some form of vegetable matter."
Being stuck for an angle, we attempted to contact screen legend Steve McQueen, who starred in a 1950's movie called 'The Blob' but were devastated to discover that McQueen - who also starred in 'The Great Escape' as the 'Cooler King' - died some years ago.
More as we get it.
