Ted Ciamillo decided that for his fortieth birthday he would build a human powered submarine and cross the Atlantic in it. However, his project is being plagued by people with silly names.

Firstly, there is his marine biologist friend, who has secured most of the funding for the project (with major contributions from Coronation Street actor, Bill Roach), is called Frank Fish, which is embarrassing enough; but with a marine engineer on board called Van Dover things have started to get silly.

Most of the fabrication for the human powered sub has been done by Ciamillo's close friend, John Dory, though the propulsion system based on a dolphin's tale was carried out by Mack Mullet, and the electrics were installed by Oscar Snapper.

Publicist for the project, Anne Chovie, dismissed claims of a fish based theme.

"It's nonsense," she said. "All the names highlighted are just a handful of people involved in this marvellous project, and there are lots of people who don't get a mention because their names don't swim. Like mine. It's mere coincidence.

"It is said that this heroic endeavour is being overshadowed by childish remarks about the names of the people involved."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
