Can We Have Some Coal Please Comrade?

Coast guards in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston have revealed that that they intercepted SOS calls from a Russian submarine off the Norfolk coast.

"They were apparently concerned that they were running out of fuel and the crew worked out that being underwater wasn't such a great idea in the circumstances," said Dirk Dagger, Coastguard.

It is believed that the submarine involved is the Yakust, an older type submarine which is coal fired.

"Looks like they've run out of coal, or are about to, which could have disastrous potential," said Captain Fred Ahab RN Retd. "It's all a bit sad really because the Royal Navy warned them donkey's years ago that coal fired submarines were not a viable proposition."

The Kremlin denied earlier today that they even had any submarines, much less ones in difficulty.

"Oh they're just liars," said Captain Ahab. "You can never believe a word they say."

More as we get it.
