VATICAN CITY - Outgoing British prime minister Tony Blair held long talks with Pope Benedict XVI over his possible conversion to Catholicism.
A spokeswoman for the prime minister revealed that Tony was looking to become an 'honorary Cardinal or something,' adding that he liked 'the togs.'
Oberstgruppenführer Benedict greeted Blair in the Papal Panzer as he arrived from an all night EU summit in Brussels.
In the past Blair has variously described his religious beliefs as 'complex' and 'tending towards Satanism.' It is well known that Benedict and the late Head of the Church of Satan, Anton La Vey, kept up a long running correspondence, sharing as they did numerous common interests including kipper ties, lion management and burlesque.
A Vatican spokesman was evasive when asked as to whether Catholicism and Satanism were incompatible, 'that's a question of theology and not something that can be answered in a sound bite.'
