A church here held three indoor standing-room-only services Sunday despite a court order banning gatherings of 10 people or more. The hundreds in attendance were largely without masks, and no attempt was made to maintain social distancing.
"The church and our faith will protect us," said the pastor, "and the Bible tells us to gather at the church. The government can't repeal that binding law that came from God."
In response to questioning from this Spoof reporter about the lack of masks among the parishioners, the pastor responded: "Would Christ wear a mask?" He seemed to think that the question answered itself, and left the sanctuary. The reporters broke into small groups to ponder his question, often ending with another question: "What do our readers think Jesus would do?"
