Donald Trump continued his first international trip today with a visit to Jerusalem, where he planned to unveil his plan for peace between Israelis and Palestinians. He had previously declared his plan the "best ever" and said that peace would be only a few days away, although he refused to give more details.
Today his tone was slightly less optimistic, as he admitted that he had underestimated the difficulty of the situation. "Nobody knew it was this complicated! I mean literally nobody!" he said. He expressed surprise on learning that the area had been a hotbed of religious conflict for centuries.
"I just thought it was Jesus's hometown. Who knew there were Jews and Muslims here. I came up with this amazing final solution for the Jews, but it turns out it isn't that simple. Who knew!"
