A toilet manufacturer in China goes by the name of Shenzhen Trump Industrial Co. Ltd. and claims it never heard of Donald Trump till 2015 when Trump became a US presidential candidate.
Now the Chinese firm is facing a lawsuit, though legal experts doubt Donald Trump will make much headway suing a Chinese firm in China for trademark violation.
Zhong Jianwei a general manager for Shenzhen Trump Industrial Co. Ltd., spoke to The Spoof about Donald Trump's claims.
"We have been using this logo for fourteen years, and it is registered with the state authority. We happen to share a name with Donald Trump, there are many companies with Trump in their name. It is just a coincidence too that people associate the toilet seat in our logo with his lower lip"
Donald Trump talked about the lawsuit during a press conference.
"They actually make some really good products, but they never got an endorsement from me. Right now the lawyers are talking and if they pay a licensing fee I want to start using their product in my new properties. If you think about it, using the toilet after someone else, it's just disgusting, that's why I like their auto changing toilet seat cover."
Specialty toilet seats and auto changing toilet seat covers are what SZ Trump does best, and that is why the toilet seat cover features prominently in their logo.
Zhong, in defense of his employer, says the fact that they are known for toilet seats should be enough proof that the toilet seat in their logo is just a toilet seat.
