Research archives have revealed that in 1990 Vladimir Putin legally changed his surname from Cutein to Putin.
Born as Vladimir Cutein, Vladimir decided that his name would be unsuitable for politics.
Pictures from Vladimir's past have also been discovered of Vladimir living in a so-called 'otaku' lifestyle.
'Otakus' are people who are a fan of Japanese culture, art and fashion.
Most of the photographs feature pastel coloured clothes, anime or manga character figurines and character body pillows - these photographs cannot be released due to graphic content.
Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev said: "This new information should not affect how Vladimir is viewed as a president."
He added: "The past is the past and his name is just a name - it is irrelevant."
However some Russian parliament members fear of Russia's culture becoming similar to South Korea's.
An anonymous member claimed: "We do not want our flag to become pastel pink and yellow."
