OVER THERE -- Sweden, a member in good standing of The League of White Supremacist Nations, has ordered its ornithologists (birdbrained experts) to rename fowl that have been given "foul names" by Swedish birdwatchers over the years.

"The names are blatantly racist," according to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a mostly black U. S. watchdog group that has itself been called "racist" because its name includes "Colored," a now-disparaging term for African-Americans.

"They need to be changed," an NAACP spokesman I. B. Black whined.

Among the "offensive" names are "gypsy bird," which "disrespects" white people; the "negro," which is a "hateful" term for colored people; and "Hottentot," which refers to African women with "oversize buttocks."

In fact, there are 10,709 "offensive" Swedish bird names. Renaming the fowl will take several years, but Swedes promise to start with the "most offensive, those that disparage white people.

The renaming process has already begun, in fact, with the negro bird being rechristened as the "colored" bird.

"If that term is good enough for the NAACP, it's good enough for us," Ornithologist Orenthal J. Simpleton said.

Likewise, the gypsy bird is now the gypper bird, and the Hottentot has become the Hot-to-trot.

According to the Reverend Al Sharpie, an unofficial representative of Prezident Barry Obummer, the Swede's agreement to rename the birds is "a step in the right direction" in making amends to "people of color" and may be accepted as "meaningful" if Sweden pays off the millions of dollars of Sharpie's unpaid back taxes.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
