DUBLIN, Ireland - The World Food Coalition has been in existence since October 15, 1944.
And in that time it has provided food to virtually every country in the world, except for the United States, England, and the African country of Dutch West Wakaboonka.
But times have changed and now that the number of countries has grown to 196, the WFC finds itself struggling to meet the food needs of most of the world's countries.
The WFC has had to resort to actually asking for food donations, something that it has never had to do before thanks to the generosity of countries like the United States, England, Australia, Iceland, and Laos.
The WFC did want to stress that they are no longer going to accept candy items due to the fact that several countries including Portugal and Peru have complained about their citizens getting cavities.
SIDENOTE: The WFC also want it known that they will take all kinds of food items just as long as their expiration date is not before September 13, 2009.
