WARSAW, Poland - The distance from Warsaw, Poland to Sochi, Russia is 1,299 miles.

Two Polish women identified as Madga Krakzyn, 43, and Filomena Ripolski, 41, decided to walk the entire distance from their homes in Warsaw to the Sochi Olympics.

Madga and Filomena told reporters that they just wanted to prove that although they may not be professional athletes they can still do whatever they set their mind to do.

The two women, who are both in excellent shape, said that they financed the trip through donations from family members, friends, neighbors, and a very rich Warsaw businessman who wrote them a check for $17,000 [U.S.].

Madga and Filomena, who are both single, giggled as they said that on their walk to the Olympics they each received numerous marriage proposals. Madga stated that she received 9, and Filomena said that she received 11.

SIDENOTE: As you can clearly see from the photo, both women walked the entire distance barefooted.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
