White House Chief of Staff, Pete Rouse claims the White House mail room is awash in a sea of flip-flop sandals being mailed to the President in protest of his most recent backing down on tax cuts to the wealthy.
Unlike the millions of tea bags that the White House received last year from angry Tea Party members over the same issue, the flip-flops are coming from liberal democrats who feel the President has let them down by not standing up to the Republicans.
While some of the flip flips were accompanied by letters, the majority had messages written directly on them. The cleverest was a pair of two right flip-flops that simply said "since you have no more need for the left…"
In fact, there are so many flip-flops being bought for this latest protest that the nation's Wal-Marts have pulled their supply back out and put them on the floor for purchase. Wal-Mart spokesperson, Hugh Jesture told us, "We pulled all our summer gear to make room for the upcoming holidays, but we've gotten so many requests for flip-flops that we've sold out of our complete inventory and still find it necessary to place back orders."
Jesture continued, "With the generous tax breaks we're going to get from this latest legislation, coupled with the sale of all these flip-flops, we are going to be looking at some awesome profits come January."
