It's now open season on the car pool lanes in California

A California court has ruled that schizophrenics are to be allowed to travel in car pool lanes. The decision is based on the idea that when a person with schizophrenia is in a vehicle, there is more than one person. To deny this would be to not recognize the mental handicap of the driver and would violate their civil rights.

California Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate (and former Governor) Jerry Brown supported the court's decision. "This is they type of peace and love and the politically correct decision that we want in our state. IT shows our support of those in our state who suffer from this condition."

State Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, however, was not in favor of the ruling. "Dis is anudder stoopid zing comink from our courts. Dees girly men judges has gots to go away."

Effective August first of this year, persons who identify themselves as schizoprenics (any of the personalities may identify themselves as such) will be permitted access to car pool lanes normally reserved for vehicles with more than one person. As making the drivers carry an ID card identifying themselves as suffering from schizophrenia would be profiling (according to the courts), anyone can identify themselves as such.

As a result of this decision, Siamese Twins (a.k.a. cojoined twins) are now suing for the same right.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
