Beach landings are usually safe - even for 'Experimental' craft

South Carolina - (Sand Dune Mess): The freak accident happened as the plane began leaking oil at 13,000ft and a back-draft sprayed the pilot's window, obscuring flight vision and causing the plane to plummet suddenly, according to reports.

An unidentified jogger was exercising on the local Paris Hilton Head beauty spot beach, when the single-engine craft went out of control and landed on top of the man.

"This awful tragedy is unprecedented," Paris Hilton Head Island fire and rescue's Joheida Fister commented.

The Lancair IV-P is a 'four-seat low-wing retractable-gear composite monoplane powered by a 550 cubic inch Continental turbo-normalised piston engine' according to the manufacturer's specification.

Just which part of it is the 'Experimental' bit remains unclear.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
