Former United States Vice President Al Gore, who claims that he invented the internet, has now taken credit for inventing "getting your panties/knickers in a wad."
The Senator from Tennessee says that this occured back in his high school days while growing up in the American South.
"When I'd go skinny dipping with all of the young girls, before my wife Tipper came along (of course), I use to make sure that the clothing was folded nicely on the shore or on a bench, table, rock, or hood of the car.
"Some of the people would just bunch up the shirts or pants or undergarments.
"As there was always the possibility that some adult would show up and find us, I discovered that it was easier to jump back into your clothing if it was laid out neatly and in the proper order.
"As such, I would always tell the girls when they took off their underwear not to get their panties in a wad.
"I guess the expression stuck and the rest is history.
"I'm just so good and creative about these things, aren't I?"
Gore did give one final thought during his interview: "Maybe I should point out for the benefit of my children and grandchildren that this was clean, decent, National Geographic type nudity and skinny dipping and that no sexual acts that would cause unwanted pregnancy or required birth control ever occured."
