The New York Police Department arrested a Georgia Tech student on "Peeping Tom" charges on Wednesday morning after she entered a man's bathroom as a male student showered, according to the police report.
Officers responded to a call from the second floor of New York University after an unknown individual, later identified as Georgia Tech student Terry O'Neill, entered the man's bathroom while a male student, 21, was showering.
The student told police that he noticed O'Neill in the shower area of the community bathroom and that she had a cell phone in her hand and appeared to be of college age. He yelled at her to stop and she fled from the bathroom, according to the police report.
The male victim and another male student pursued O'Neill out of the building and then called the police.
An officer met with the student and was able to locate O'Neill's vehicle.
The officer pursued O'Neill in his vehicle and made contact with O'Neill when she pulled into the rear driveway of Children's Healthcare of New York.
The officer detained O'Neill and arrested her on "Peeping Tom" felony charges at 3:05 a.m.
"You mean I have to go to jail for being in a man's shower?" O'Neill asked the officer after her arrest.
After interviewing O'Neill, the officer determined that she had no legitimate business on campus, nor was she affiliated with the University.
The officer also smelled a strong odor of alcohol on O'Neill, according to the police report.
O'Neill was transported to the county jail and her vehicle was impounded.
