Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin today announced that her 18-year-old daughter Bristol - the unwed mother of a two-month-old child, Tripp - has split with Tripp's alleged father, 19-year-old Levi Johnson.
The governor said Bristol secretly gave her baby to George and Cindy Anthony, parents of a 22-year-old daughter, Casey Anthony, accused of murdering her two-year-old baby by TV lawyer Nancy Grace.
Palin said she is proud that Bristol decided to help the Anthony family: "The Anthony grandparents miss their beloved Caylee, so this seems like a good fit to me. I'm sure they will provide a loving and secure environment for Tripp, and will not allow him to become a compulsive liar and murderer like their own child became."
Johnson and Bristol Palin pretended they were in love and would eventually be married while their mother campaigned for the vice presidency.
