Washington DC, November 9, 2008: The Associated Press is reporting that "Joe the Plumber," made famous by the McCain for President Campaign, has been hired as the Chief White House Plumber.
A spokesperson for President Elect Obama has confirmed that Joe will start work on January 21, 2009. This move was prompted by the fact that the big White House on Pennsylvania Avenue is pretty old, such that the plumbing constantly "leaks" and is always in need of repair. The last time fixing "leaks" in the White House drew national attention was 1972.
Joe still doesn't have his own Plumbers license. However, he will be a plumbing consultant for Nixon & Associates that hold a valid Washington DC Master Plumbers license. Here's hoping Joe won't be joining that infamous group of other "White House Plumbers" namely Hunt, Liddy, Colson and Krogh!
Joe comes highly recommended for the job by Senator McCain of Arizona. A good plumber is hard to find, especially at 3:00 AM in the morning during a national crisis when telephones and "the facilities" are in great demand.
