On the face of it, the White House sponsored bail out of sunken Bank bad debts is legitimate. However, the real reason is that Presidential staff do not want family and friends knocking on the front door, disheveled in appearance and pleading for a handout.
Condi Rice can't stand the sight of her Mum and Dad approaching the Capitol with cap in hand and asking for green stamps. As for George W, the thought of George Snr and spouse camping on the White House lawn would be detrimental to the Republican cause in the upcoming US Presidential elections.
There's just gotta a better way. God bless America.
