The television is all fiction.

According to latest surveys, 80% of Americans are convinced that the rest of the world is just a sitcom, used by television broadcasters to boost ratings.

"It all seemed too unbelievable. The stuff on TV, that is, you know about the rest of the world. All the dying. And drama. But I was finally convinced when they began reruns. I mean, Jesus, how many times can people go hungry in Africa? Or people die in a bomb blast....", said one of the interviewees during this long and extensive survey covering all the states of America including Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom.

With this survey, doubts that the television broadcasters might actually succeed in manipulating the gullible American public to meet their capitalist commercial needs can now be put to rest.

"Americans are bright. And they have finally realized that television broadcasters can go to any lengths to get them hooked. The people need to take a stand against these companies that sell tragedy in the name of reality TV and news.", said a leading activist.

The survey results have been boycotted by networks all around America, which has only fueled the suspicions of an already alert American public.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
