TheSpoof.com, Cyberspace - TheSpoof.com administrator, Mark Lowton, is seriously considering heeding calls by his top writers to open up a virtual gun store where they can use the points they earned for writing to purchase virtual guns. The reason for the sudden request for a virtual gun store is clear, he suspects it has to do with recent growing tensions between the writers and their wanting to carry out not so random acts of virtual violence on each other in response.
"I think it's a good a idea," said a spoof writer. "We're not doing anything with our points as it is. Besides, I know I got a score or two to settle."
Any spoof writer with enough points to purchase a virtual gun will have a special gun insignia displayed alongside their Avatar designating them as an armed and dangerous writer.
"So then whenever they login to the writers' discussion board all the other writers will be forewarned that the writer with the insignia is packing virtual heat and you better not mess with them or your career on the TheSpoof.com will be a short lived one," said a spoof writer also in favor of the idea.
The only consideration is the disparity in points between the writers, and their ability to afford a quality virtual firearm or one at all, point out the editors.
"Sure the spoof writer that has more points will be able to afford higher quality firearms with less chances of misfiring, more accuracy, grater range and higher lethal ratio than the more affordable 'Saturday Night Specials' that the other spoof writer with fewer points can afford," said a veteran spoof writer. "So, what's your point?"
It is expected that once just about anybody on TheSpoof.com who is somebody is fully armed with a virtual gun that tensions between the writers will subside with the knowledge that they are equal in at least one regard: the virtual firearms they will all be carrying and ready to use on each other at the drop of a hat.
