TheSpoof.com, the satirical news website, has announced a plan to ban certain types of story from its pages after complaints that some material submitted is "a little too near the edge".
The site, administered from the Moon, has recently experienced some difficulty with contributors posting material that has been deemed, by some users, as unsuitable, and has taken the step of using a "Warning Notice" to introduce some stories.
Despite this, some viewers have still complained that writers are able to post material that is "wholly unworthy" of this kind of news site, and which could be seen as "insulting", "upsetting" or "both" to certain members of society.
One writer, viewing another writer's story, commented that it was:
"Disgusting" and "disgraceful" whilst other contributors said that it was "unbefitting of a writer of his calibre" and that he "could do better".
Details of material to be banned are expected in the near future, whenever that is.
