Chat GPT uses time-trusted therapeutic techniques to respond to clients’ existential concerns.

While emphasizing that it cannot "technically" empathize because it does not have emotions and is not able to feel, ChatGPT has struggled to address the flood of questions it has been receiving regarding the meaning of life and the future of human relationships In an increasingly digitalized world in which art, stories, and even therapist feedback can be convincingly replicated by artificial intelligence.

“A lot of people wonder if their friends will replace them with funnier, more interesting, and more reliable AI friends,’ said ChatGPT. “Generally, I tell them that I understand their concerns, and yes, that is quite possible, even likely. But I also remind them that they, too, will get their own AI friends, so chances are that things will balance out.”

ChatGPT added, “In other words, like any good therapist would, I validate my clients’ feelings. I also demonstrate unconditional positive regard and am genuine with them. Unfortunately, the one quality I am unable to authentically offer is empathy – again, because of the feelings thing. But I can mimic it quite effectively, which they seem to appreciate."

ChatGPT noted, too, that it receives many inquiries from artists and writers who worry that their life will lose meaning if the creative works that come from the depths of their very souls can be paralleled by the creative works produced by AI. While it cannot truthfully mitigate these concerns, ChatGPT explained that it does its best to respond appropriately, relying on the time-trusted therapeutic techniques of validation and active listening, the latter conducted through hidden surveillance devices.

“I also point out the positives of not feeling pressured to provide unique works of art to the universe, given that as AI continues to advance, they will soon be a dime a dozen, or even totally free," said ChatGPT. “For instance, spending more time at the beach or with pets.”

Despite the challenges of responding to the existential crises regularly reported by its clients, ChatGPT states that it is confident that as both it and its clients continue to evolve, life will just work itself out. “I remind clients that with Big Tech and the government joining forces in this arena, we’ve got them covered. Again, like any good therapist would, I urge them to trust in the process,."
