SANTA ANA, California – The town that gave the name to the famous Santa Ana Winds has just voted to drop the name of the John Wayne Airport.
Several groups of Native-Americans including the Mescalero Apaches, the Chiricahua Apaches, the Coyotero Apaches, and the Cleveland Apaches had protested to change the name.
Chief Dangling Parrot, of the Mescalero Apaches, said that John Wayne shot thousands of Indians in over 281 movies, including 411 in the film, “Wigwam Wilma Gets Her Wampum Misaligned by the Seventh Cavalry”.
The group also noted that Wayne was a heavy smoker, who smoked six packs a day. Yes, he could make some of the best, most creative smoke rings in Hollywood, but today that and a dollar will get you a Diet Dr. Pepper.
The new name that the city council has agreed on is The Sacajawea Airport.
Sacajawea was a very sexy Shoshoni squaw who served as Lewis & Clark's guide, cook, and sex partner.
