Washington - Experts in the CIA and FBI have been quoted by media sources as concerned that Russia is planning to interfere in the upcoming United States election by using bots to plant false information on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
The intelligence community of a country whose voters have, in the past, placed bodybuilders, reality show hosts, wrestlers, comedians, cocaine addicts, crackpot sheriffs, brothel owners and other persons of questionable qualifications into key government positions, is concerned that Americans, who would otherwise make informed intelligent choices about their leaders, are being unreasonably swayed by Russian efforts to plant fake news stories and other falsehoods.
President Trump questioned the claims, however, and insisted that he has been successful on his own, without Russian interference, in convincing a large percentage of Americans to believe that he has been chosen by God, Climate Science is a hoax, Obama was not born in the United States, the Clintons murdered dozens of people, and only he was responsible for an economic expansion that began in 2009.
