President Donald Trump's border wall is to be the topic of a high-level meeting at the White House this evening, after it was reported that US Homeland Security officers have found several tunnels near the Mexican border.
Two of the tunnels, near El Paso, are more than 80 feet deep, and come to the surface nearly 600 meters inside US territory. Another, in the Rio Grande Valley, was discovered when part of it caved in about 400 meters from the border. Its exit point was another 300m further on.
A quantity of spades was also found.
Security officials say this may just be 'the tip of the iceberg', and that there could be dozens, if not hundreds of tunnels all along the 1,954-mile border's length.
The tunnels are a measure of Mexican resilience, and show just how determined the immigrants are to get past the border.
It's thought that an 'unknowable' number of illegal immigrants have already flooded into the US.
