Washington, DC Carmen Cruz, the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, the largest city and capital city of the island, recently chastised Trump and the federal government for their slow response to the Hurricane Maria tragedy that devastated Puerto Rico. When Trump finally visited the island, days after the disaster, he exited by throwing paper towels out to the audience, which Mayor Cruz admonished him for.
As Trump was finished after an address about the NFL and other items that displeased him, after tweeting that Mayor Cruz was "nasty," Trump, not realizing the microphone was still on, could plainly be heard saying-
"That nasty lady has a lot of nerve expecting us to rebuild their broken-down island. Especially since they still owe us money. Did you know that practically everyone on that island is Puerto Rican? So what if I didn't mention Florida or Texas repaying us for their storm damage. I have a lot of friends there and they are all white so we know we have a better chance of them paying their bills."
