WICHITA, Kansas - Buford Buttonspoon has become one of the most popular farmers in his neck of the woods.
The 71-year-old hog farmer recently revealed that a year ago last Labor Day, he was out slopping his hogs when he started humming the Beatles song "Eight Days A Week."
He said that all of a sudden two of his younger pigs began humming along with the song.
He was needless to stay shocked and commented that the two pigs; named Hogette and Pignina, were both in the same key - G sharp.
Buttonspoon immediately ran to the house to get his wife Mindy Sue. He quickly led her to the pig pen where Hogette and Pignina were eating.
He then began singing "Eight Days A Week" but the two pigs did not respond.
He decided to try a different song, so he started singing "Eleanor Rigby." Nothing.
Buttonspoon was disappointed. Mindy Sue looked at her husband and suggested that he not drink whenever he's around the pigs.
The next day Buford again took Mindy Sue out to the pig pen and this time he sang the Beatles song "Twist And Shout" and low and behold Hogette and Pignina started humming up a storm.
Buford figured out that his two humming pigs only like to hum to uptempo Beatles tunes.
