Middleton, Texas: Officers in West Texas who answered calls about a huge rat chasing people around the neighborhood at night are out watching to see if it shows up again.
"I don't care how big the rat is, this old shotgun will blow that sucker away", stated deputy Harrison Cockerel.
The deputy was very upset because of a missing police dog that had gone after the rat the night before and hadn't returned.
"If that thing ate old Blue, he's a rat like nothing I have ever seen", stated Sheriff Molly Gaines, the first female sheriff of the county.
Just as she was talking to our reporter, Leon Andrews, a call came in that Old Blue had been found cowering behind a dipsy dumpster down behind the IGA.
"Must be vicious to get to Blue. His back looks swayed like an old horse but I don't think he's broken anything. We'll get him to a vet", stated Gaines.
"Phone call for you , Boss Lady!" a voice came from behind her in the station.
(Later) "Call off the hunt. That was Jackson Henderson. "His pet kangaroo is missing. Bet he jumped Old Blue from behind. Call the Animal Control people and turn it over to them."
"I tell you. Does a kangaroo look anything like a rat? Well, guess it was dark."
Update: Old Blue is fine but shakes a lot.
