BOSTON - The mayor of Boston Thomas "Mumbles" Menino has just taken what has got to be one of the cheapest shots in the history of cheap shots.
Mayor Menino speaking to a group of nuns in the parking lot of a local Silly Sardine Seafood Diner was asked what he would do to help the bankrupt city of Detroit get back on its feet.
The mayor put down his crab and peanut butter sandwich and replied that he would blow it up. A bunch of "Say what's?" could be heard all over the parking lot.
When Political Salad Bar Magazine reporter Savannah Bamboo asked him if he was serious. He replied that he was as serious as the spare tire around Wynonna Judd's midsection.
Some more "Say what's?" permeated through the Boston parking lot.
Miss Bamboo mentioned that perhaps one word that the mayor and any kind, caring, sensitive citizen of Boston should not mention in public is the word "Bomb."
But apparently Mayor Menino seems to have a very, very short memory or else he is one callous son-of-a-biscuit.
Detroit Mayor Dave Bing was asked to comment on Menino's bitter, hate-filled remark.
The fine mayor of Detroit shook his head and said that he would expect that kind of talk from a Nazi but certainly not from a supposedly fair and balanced individual.
SIDENOTE: Mayor Bing has said that his office has received thousands of calls from irate Detroit citizens. One individual identified as Thelma Sue Friskmeister, 84, suggested that Mayor Menino should show he has a pair, apologize, and send the city of Detroit a check for $100,000.
