"Avoid travelling alone after dark."

Police are becoming concerned that a new craze called, "Cat Binning" is sweeping the nation's council estates.

Participants in the craze, inspired by Coventry maniac- Mary Bale, walk their neighbourhood searching for cats to drop into bins. The contestants then post their efforts on social networking sites for their friends to score.

Points are awarded for how deep the bin is and the more aggressive the cat becomes.

Police are describing the craze as, "the new happy slapping" and are said to be, "disturbed" that celebrities seem to be jumping on the "Cat Binning" bandwagon. Peaches Geldolf, Paris Hilton and Terry Wogan have all been seen disposing of cats into a variety of bins in the last few days.

A video of Wogan smiling next to a bin, with his friends cheering him on, has recently appeared on Youtube.

An animal rights spokesman has advised cats to be, "aware of their surroundings at all times" and "avoid travelling alone after dark."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
