Catwoman, the fictional character associated with DC Comics' Batman franchise, has said she is "appalled" by the behaviour of the woman who dumped a cat in a wheelie bin, and intends to "deal with her personally."
The woman who threw the cat into a bin outside her owner's home has said she isn't frightened of Catwoman, and claimed that she would put her in a bin if she dared to show her cat-like features in Coventry.
The anti-heroine, who is not an adversary of Batman, as such, but is known for having a love-hate relationship with him, heard about the incident on the BBC, and immediately stated her intentions on its Have Your Say facility.
She left a message saying:
"I'm appalled. I'll deal with her personally."
But police have said that they advise members of the public not to interfere in their investigation. They have tried to keep the perpetrator's address a secret by forming a huge cordon of officers around the property.
One officer said:
"The cat is our priority. Bollox to all the knife-wielding gangs who are roaming the streets, this is a matter of national urgency."
Then someone put him in a wheelie bin.
