Further demonstrating their lack of a grasp on reality, a family court ruled yesterday that nursery nurse Diana Taken should be awarded sole custody of her 6 year old son, Stephen.
Ms Taken was convicted last week at the Old Bailey of sexually abusing dozens of children from new born to the age of 5 over the last 12 years, who had been left in her care at the local nursery.
Family Court Senior Family Judge, His Honour Les Beavingam was interviewed after the case and asked why he came to the decision to award sole custody to Ms Taken. he said, "she's the child's mother isn't she? The father and his witnesses painted such a black picture of this wonderful, caring, loving, mother that I couldn't believe it. The father is an MP and we all know what that lot are like, so he had no chance. He was obviously making it all up."
When asked about the conviction for sexual abuse, HH Beavingham said, "I am sure that was a minor aberration and she has learned her lesson. I suspect the jury got it wrong in that trial anyway. I cannot believe she did any of those things."
Ms Taken is due to be sentenced next week at the Old Bailey and is likely to receive a stern warning by the judge.
