A spokesman for the Isle of Wight tourist board today confirmed that Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle has been making enquiries regarding holiday accommodation with a view to visiting the island.
Possibly for a weekend break.
It is a little known and under reported fact that Susan Boyle has harboured a lifelong interest in the island, which lies off Britain's south coast, sort of opposite Southampton and Portsmouth, and quite close to Fawley.
Although she has not yet visited.
Islanders and tourism chiefs are hopeful that all that will change, what with Susan Boyle checking things out and Paul McCartney all set to play the Isle Of Wight Festival.
