Just as the furore surrounding Wayne Bridge's refusal to shake hands with John Terry at Stamford Bridge last Sunday appeared to be dying a natural death as a news story, Susan Boyle has piped in with her two pennyworth.
Nobody was quite sure what would happen when Wayne Bridge formally came face to face with the man who had allegedly been slipping his former girlfriend a length, but predictably, the ex Southampton man very publicly shunned his former best mate by refusing to shake his hand.
But Susan Boyle and her legions of eccentric fans certainly seem to have their own unique take on events. Boyle herself allegedly said after seeing the snub on TV:
"That's just pure bloody bad manners is that. Tae snub the hand of friendship is just unforgivable. Now I don't rightly know who this Wayne Bridge fellow is, or what bee he's got in his bonnet with the gadgy with the Mohawk hair cut, but tae refuse a hand is a bad, bad thing right enough."
When asked how she would treat Wayne Bridge if he ever showed up at a SuBo gig wanting to shake hands backstage after the show, SuBo was said to have said:
"I wouldn't shake his hand. I don't even know that he's a fan, but I can say that if he showed up backstage at a gig I would definitely snub him, just like he snubbed that other fellow. Give him a taste of his own medicine. The swine!"
