An Oxfordshire man in his thirties has been unexpectedly caught humming a Gary Glitter tune.
The incident occurred at around 8:30 this morning as he was travelling to work in his motor car.
Edward Leighton, 36, was driving along the A40 towards Oxford when he suddenly, and for no known reason, began humming 'I'm The Leader Of The Gang (I Am)'.
"It took me totally by surprise," said Leighton, "I just started with the melody and before I knew it I was in to the first verse, with words and everything!"
"I just felt dirty to be honest. I cannot apologise enough to anyone I may have offended. I don't know where it came from, I don't even like the song," he continued.
"I then suffered for the rest of the day, and just couldn't get it out of my head," he cried.
Police will not be pressing charges, but have taken Leighton's computer to PC World for analysis.
Rumours of a similar incident occurring in Leicester, when a straight man began humming Wham's 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go' at a bus stop, have yet to be confirmed.
More as we can be arsed.
