Dr Philip Nitschke, nicknamed Doctor Death by the media, delivered his lecture today on the best ways to commit suicide.
The aim of the lecture is to assist those with a serious illness, find a way to limit their own suffering.
Unfortunately for Nitschke however, he had walked into the wrong room at the Bournemouth hotel which he was due to present at.
The euthanasia campaigner spoke for 2 hours before ending the presentation to take questions. The first lady to speak simply commented "but I don't want to hang myself, I'll miss Countdown".
It was at this point where the doctor began to be suspicious and on checking the agenda for the meeting, realised that he was actually speaking to the "Women's World War II Singing Society".
Beryl Haughtington-Smythe, chair-lady of the society explained that the group re-unite each year in Bournemouth to remember to "lovely songs that we used to sing in the bomb shelters".
The ladies laughed it off though, and Nitschke joined in on a chorus of the Dame Vera Lynn classic "We'll Meet Again".
