Most Britons thought that CS Lewis' white witch from the Chronicles of Narnia was a mythic figure from the imagination of an atheistic Oxford Don who got religion in his final days. But this season of always winter and never Christmas has convinced some that a cold spell has been cast on London.
This week has been the clincher as Big Ben has gotten a snowjob and Parliament and its denizens have been frozen solid as the statues in Lewis' Lion, The Withch and the Wardrobe.
Oddly the United Kingdom appears to be doing much better without the Commons and the Lords.
In fact a common prayerful cry has gone up to keep the Lion Aslan away till common sense can undo the political tangle created by the politicos.
