In a revelation which has rocked the world of politics, it has been revealed today that a member of the British parliament has claimed a genuine expense.
Fidelma Sallarie, MP for Greasings-on-the-Palm in Wiltshire, has shocked fellow MP's by claiming for a standard class train ticket from Westminster to a conference in Birmingham where she was a guest speaker.
Chancer of the Exchequer, Alistair Sweetiepie was said to be livid:
"This Honourable Member of Parliament is obviously suffering either from delusions of honesty or from PMQT (Prime Minister's Question Time). My big worry is that if she continues in this manner, she will end up being re-elected when we lose the next election.
"She has a duty to the House to claim expenses solely for shopping trips, mortgage payments on her house in France and taxi fares to Tesco, not to fritter away taxpayers' money on irrelevant trips for public speaking events to major conferences of vital importance to the UK.
"And to add insult to perjury, she has committed the cardinal sin of travelling standard class and not booking a First Class Meal Deal and Parking special, so she has probably saved a further and disgraceful two hundred pounds to boot!
"I hate to think what might happen if this practice catches on. We might get to the plainly horrific and catastrophic situation where MP's deliver value for money to the hard-pressed, stealth tax-paying public.
"Outrageous!"
