The rumoured plan by former Rainbow host Jeffrey to release his memoirs could sink the show, according to Rainbow fanatic Mike Meadow.
Bungle, the show's current leader, has already come under fierce attack since Lord Freddy (formerly part of Rod, Jane and Freddy) said in a TV interview it was inconceivable that Bungle didn't know that all the toys and props for the show were loaned by wealthy businessmen expecting to influence the songs played by the trio and ultimately gain a mention in the end credits.
Now Mr Meadow has said he doesn't expect Bungle to remain in charge of the show for long, and pointed towards the behaviour of his closest colleagues.
Zippy, now in charge of the show's budget, caused a storm last month when he asked for 10p to be deducted from the pocket money of each child member of the fan club, in order to pay for lollipops for the older children; whilst George has hardly been out of the headlines with a string of crazy ideas and her recent decision to ignore the show's panel of experts.
Rumours that Jeffrey has been in secret contact with Bungle to help him through this difficult time were strenuously denied by an aide.
