"I would do anything to be able to greet our Maddy on that bridge!"

"Oh no, not another McCann Publicity stunt!" you say. In his bid to keep the publicity alive, Gerry Mcann may feature in ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here!', now in its 7th series.

Gerry told In Seine news " If I did appear in the reality show, I would like to make it quite clear I'm not doing it for myself, I'm doing it to keep Maddy in the Public Eye. I know that she is still alive and her captor might even be hiding her in this very jungle or there is a possibility that someone round here was on holiday back in May when our Maddy went missing."

When asked about still being an official suspecct, he made the following statement: "There are so many cameras here that even the Portuguese police will not be able to lose me - in fact some of their officers could fly out with me if they wanted to keep me under surveillance. They could even try out some of the 'Bushtucker' trials if they wanted to."

"At the same time, I know that Kate and the twins should be safe at home. The hospital may have to give me compassionate leave (again) to do this, because I am still not fully focussed on my job and will unlikely to be so until my daughter is found. I could talk to all the other contestants about Maddy and what anguish I've been going through for the past six months, and who knows, she might be found whilst I 'm out here."

"I would do anything set before me to be able to greet Kate, little Madeline and the twins running towards me over that bridge - Kangaroo's bits, fisheyes, spiders legs, Witchety grubs - absolutely anything!"
