Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the King Of Saudi Arabia, yesterday impressed British ministers, both with his politics and his inimitable humour. In conversation with MP's before the royal dinner Mr Aziz was questioned about the Saudi Arabian policies of torture and execution.
"Don't worry," Mr Aziz replied, "We know that most of our citizens are quite armless."
This amiable, good natured banter continued into the dinner, as Mr Aziz assured the Queen that he would have 'got on with [her] ancestors very well. [He is] a stake man [him]self'. The Queen herself was spluttering with laughter after Aziz launched into his knock, knock joke, 'well, it couldn't have been any of my citizens, they don't have the appendages'.
"Is this a sausage or one of my citizen's fingers?" Aziz said later.
Gordon Brown spoke today, and told of his respect for Aziz.
"A bundle of laughs," He said, "Hilarious bloke, I'll be stealing a few of those little gems, haha....oh, and he's a great leader as well."
