Mark Lowton's mustache has moved over to another server and set up a rival website. It hopes that writers will follow and make up libellous stories about TheSpoof.com.
In a pre-launch press interview, the mustache thanked Mark for the previous close ties and wished him well for the future.
"There have been some good times," It said, "But we now have to go our separate ways, it's time to move on. The parting has been emotional, but there again, business like. I hope that we can still remain friends and there is room on the net for two spoofy sites. Our plans are to expand the writer base in small stages, attracting some of the better names to write for both sites. We haven't thought about an advertising deal yet, although Brylcreem and some Beeswax manufacturers have expressed an interest."
Close friends of Mark Lowton said he was "gutted" by the developments.
