Last Tuesday night, yes, I think I can remember that.

The BBC has launched details of a new show, called Last Tuesday Night.

Hosted by Sara Pascoe, Romesh Ranganathan and roving reporter Richard Osman, it is a lazy cash-in on nostalgia shows, blending news with humorous sketches. At some point, Jon Richardson will turn up, for no apparent reason.

TV producer Noddy Good-Idea Bartholemew said: 'I was watching that show, The Noughties, and I suddenly thought, why don't we bring it even closer to now? So, we take the idea of the show, but make it about now, you know, a bit like the news, but with a bit of time between now and then.'

Another producer said: 'A topical comedy show. I see it has legs, but I think it should be hosted by someone right-wing, so it doesn't look like the usual left-leaning bullshit we already put out. Has Laurence Foxx got much work coming in at the moment?'

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
