Liverpool - After dispatching Norwich over the weekend, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced he would utilize his Under-16 side against visiting West Ham next Monday, in order to save his Premier League lineup for upcoming Champions League knockout fixtures. Liverpool are runaway leaders of the Premier League with an almost 20-point cushion.
"We thought about using the Under-23 group, but they have a difficult set of games upcoming, so we will reserve them and go to the Under-16s," said Klopp after he watched Manchester City breeze over hapless West Ham on Wednesday. The Hammers had no shots on target, and only 3 shots overall, to 20 by City in that game. They currently find themselves in the relegation zone after a disastrous run of fortune.
