Hellraising bassist and vocalist with heavy metal merchants Motorhead, Lemmy, is today cock-a-hoop at having secured the Conservative Party's nomination as prospective parliamentary candidate for Ashby de la Zouche.
The clearly delighted bassman told us:
"In what's been a calculated well-planned career, I always said this was the way for me to go. I think politics is a natural progression for hell-raising bassists and the like. Just look at Gyles Brandreth and Seb Coe.
I find myself in-step with the leadership of the party inasmuch as I'm pro death penalty, I want all foreigners turfed out but pretend that I don't and I'd like all my showbiz pals to keep all their earnings and we can tax the poor more instead"
Tory Leader, David Cameron, said:
"When Mr. Lemmy wins his seat I shall be delighted to welcome him to the Palace of Westminster and when we form the next government I shall be inviting Mr Lemmy to become my drugs Tsar"
