A motorist in the Thai capital of Bangkok was labelled with being 'irresponsible' this afternoon, after he deliberately drove through traffic lights which were clearly on 'red', which means 'stop'.
The driver, who was in a jet-black 2016 Landcruiser, registration number '3819 Gor Dtor Ror', skipped the red light at the busy intersection of Rama II Road and Suksawat Road, at Bang Pakeow, a noted troublespot.
The Landcruiser seemed to accelerate as the traffic lights 'countdown' system got nearer to 'zero'. It narrowly avoided colliding with a red number 82 bus that was pulling away from a green light on Suksawat, en route from Prapadaeng to Sanam Luang, its destination. Passengers on the bus cheered. One shouted "Olé!", though it's not clear why.
A traffic policeman, who watched the incident from his police box situated on Suksawat near the traffic lights, swatted a fly with his left hand, then continued reading his newspaper.
