Sammy Caruthers of Guildford announced yesterday his own provisional 23 man England football squad for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil this June.

Sammy, who goes to school at St Margarets Church of England primary, said that changes could be made later in the year due to injuries to members of the squad.

Sammy has no experience of playing or coaching football professionally but says he clocks up at least 14 hours of the video game Fifa on the Playstation 4 every week.

"This has been a tough decision but I think it's a squad that can ultimately win the tournament." said Sammy whilst holding the hand of his mother Jane in the driveway of his parents house, addressing the world's media.

Some of his choices have been criticised by football pundits, particularly his omission of Joe Hart from the squad and also the selection of "Young 80's Maradona before he got fat" and "Sonic the Hedgehog" at left back

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
